A Christmas Village
To celebrate the collective solidarity that has carried us through the pandemic, we have gathered our friends and neighbours to present an array of events this Christmas. Starting from mid-November, our stores will play host to workshops, Christmas story readings and product pop-ups by our seasonal collaborators, Birds of Paradise Gelato Boutique and Ryan's Grocery. On the weekend of December 3rd, we will also be coming together with our neighbours at Tiong Bahru to present the Yong Siak Christmas Market.

Yong Siak Christmas Market
Saturday 3 & Sunday 4 December

We will be joining forces with our neighbours at Tiong Bahru to present the Yong Siak Christmas Market, a joyous affair to reclaim the simple pleasures of merrymaking. At our Tiong Bahru store, we will be offering special holiday creations, such as Christmas milkshakes and selected bakes, as well as hosting a line-up of pop-up friends that includes gardener Soilboy, children’s ware purveyor Mellow, textile & accessory maker good assembly, stamp artist Drool Stamps, and international housing charity Habitat For Humanity. Stay around till the sun sets and you might just catch our street's first ever Christmas light up!

BIRDS OF PARADISE GELATO POP-UP

For 7 days only, Birds of Paradise's celebrated gelato will be served in 3 flavours: Strawberry Basil, Spiced Pear and Dark Chocolate Mint Sorbet – a festive flavour created in collaboration with Plain Vanilla. Our Spiced Pear & Nut Tart – inspired by BOP's Spiced Pear gelato – will also be available at Neil Road during this limited-time period.

CHRISTMAS STAMP-MAKING WORKSHOP

Learn how to make Christmas-themed rubber stamps under the guidance of Rachel Ma, the stamp artist behind Drool Stamps. This intimate workshop of up to 10 participants is suitable for complete beginners and stamp-carving enthusiasts who are looking to learn carving techniques and get detailed step-by-step guidance to improve their craft. A stamp carving kit will be provided and participants can look forward to bringing home 2 to 4 handmade stamps!

TABLETOP CHRISTMAS TREE WORKSHOP

Join Wonderland Botanicals in an artisanal class to handmake your very own mini-Christmas tree using fresh pine. A wooden structure and the tools required to create the tree will be provided and the assembly of each tree will offer a therapeutic process requiring your patience and focus. After you've completed assembling your tree, decorations will be provided for you to dress up your creation!

Designed for children aged 4 to 6, this fun-filled, hands-on activity will engage your littles ones in creating their own edible masterpieces. Baked by Plain Vanilla and facilitated by play studio Plain as Play by The Maker's Club, this workshop begins with the origin story of the gingerbread house, and will guide the little ones in its assembly and decoration using snow-white royal icing and a wide array of festive sprinkles.

Join Uncle Mike from Woods in the Books, who will be reading Santa Post by Emma Yarlett. In this fun and interactive session, little ones will be enlisted to help figure out what gift a girl had asked for as her letter to Santa was accidentally damaged! There will also be an art activity to celebrate this festive season. Ideal for ages 4 to 6.
