Located in the quaint Tiong Bahru estate, our flagship store is where you’ll find our largest selection of bakes, a daily brunch menu, the full range of our grocer brand, Plain Vanilla Foods, and a curated selection of homeware by like-minded brands who bring beauty and wellbeing to our daily rituals.

Housed in an old shophouse repurposed to suit the needs of a bakery cum cafe cum retail store, we’ve drawn natural light into the space by opening a skylight and turning the space into a bright and open sanctuary. An alfresco dining area – and more waiting to unfold – have been designed for folk to gather and unwind while enjoying a familiar selection of hot food, deli, coffee and bakes.

In the heart of the CBD, a calming, pastel-toned palette with unexpected tiling draws your mind away from work. Our Telok Ayer store was our first foray into offering a deli-style menu: meat, fish and vegetarian hot mains that turn straightforward ingredients into comforting classics, cooked a la minute in our on-site kitchen. This store-exclusive weekday deli offering rotates every two weeks alongside quiches and a selection of five seasonal salads, enough to fill hungry stomachs from a scale of ravenous to ‘just right’.

All-day brunch favourites are served on weekends.

Plain Vanilla Neil Road serves the full assortment of our bakes alongside our all-day breakfast and brunch menu.

Our fifth home puts down roots in a vibrant heritage district – from being part of a nutmeg plantation back in the 1800s, the home of our late Minister Mentor and his grandfather in the 1900s, to its oddly unified mix of Peranakan, colonial and East-West architectural influences in the streetscapes of low rise buildings and shophouses. Our Neil Road store draws inspiration from the Peranakan spirit of “Tok Panjang” – where friends and families get together over good food at a long table – and where kitchens are the heart of the house. Whether it's having a chat with us in our open-plan space or feasting at our large communal table, we hope you'll enjoy the simple pleasure of having conversations and gathering with others.

Nestled amongst a row of shophouses along East Coast Road, our home in the East offers an extensive brunch menu alongside our cupcake mainstays, a familiar assortment of bakes and a selection of local artwork and homewares.

A chamfered window display at the shopfront gives a glimpse of the day’s offerings and invites guests into a home-away-from-home decked with pebble-washed floors, alfresco lounge seating under skylights, a children's play area, and a drinking fountain for furry friends. Inspired by coastal sands, shophouses and the sunny skies of the East, we welcome friends and family to gather here among communal tables, architectural skylights, and homely lounge seating, as a restful stopover to and from the nearby shores of the sea, or to find some me-time comfort away from the bustle of the city.

Plain Vanilla Cluny Court serves up our freshly baked creations making it the perfect spot to unwind after a stroll in the Botanic Gardens, or for an intimate catch up with a friend. You’ll also find a selection of products from our grocer brand, Plain Vanilla Foods, available here.

Nestled in a historic building that bears witness to our colonial past, our Cluny Court store was designed to be in keeping with the iconic architecture of the building that houses it and its proximity to the Singapore Botanic Gardens. Its timber facade and terracotta tiles are reminiscent of the 19th-century iconic black and white houses in the area. On entering the store, one feels as if they have entered a forest clearing – a fitting sentiment given that many of our visitors may have just left the gates of a tropical garden.

A nod to the neighbourhood historically and colloquially known as Ang Sar Lee (红砂厘) – or, red zinc roofs, which lined the Serangoon Garden Estate streetscape – Plain Vanilla Serangoon Gardens is designed to carry the warmth of those early homes. Corrugated metal panels trace the ceiling, where light and shadow from a skylight recall the rooftops and streets they once sheltered.

The space opens into a communal area for screenings, a community bookshelf, and a children’s play nook — echoes of the old Paramount Theatre, Nora Ini Book Store, and the simple joy of coming together.

In that same spirit, our bakery-café offers more than just a place to eat or drink – it’s a meeting ground for connection, conversation, and community.

Once home to ponds, farms, and plantations tended by Hainanese settlers in the 1960s, Thomson still holds traces of its agricultural past — quiet footpaths, stone foundations, and forgotten plots now intertwined with the wild landscape of Thomson Nature Park.

Plain Vanilla Upper Thomson draws from this layered terrain, with gentle contours shaping granite counters, curved oak panels, and a flowing communal table that winds through the space, echoing the gradients of former plantations and soft slopes that once defined the land. Beneath a canopy of diffused light and amongst pockets of green, our café invites a slower rhythm and a moment of calm, grounded in the same soil where Thomson’s stories first took root.

Here you will find our signature cakes, bakes, brunch menu and coffee from Allpress Espresso, along with a curated selection of home goods.
