Inspired by coastal sands, shophouses and the sunny skies of the East, we welcome friends and family to gather here among communal tables, architectural skylights, and homely lounge seating away from the bustle of the city.

Located in the quaint Tiong Bahru estate, our flagship store is housed in an old shophouse repurposed to suit the needs of a bakery cum cafe cum retail store. We’ve drawn natural light into the space by opening a skylight and turning the space into a bright and open sanctuary. An alfresco dining area has been designed for folk to gather and unwind.

Plain Vanilla Neil Road puts down roots in a vibrant heritage district – from being part of a nutmeg plantation back in the 1800s, the home of our late Minister Mentor and his grandfather in the 1900s, to its oddly unified mix of Peranakan, colonial and East-West architectural influences in the streetscapes of low rise buildings and shophouses. Our Neil Road store draws inspiration from the Peranakan spirit of “Tok Panjang” – where friends and families get together over good food at a long table – and where kitchens are the heart of the house.

A large communal indoor dining table lies at the heart of our store. Feature arches form the backdrop of our seven-metre long terrazzo-inspired counter top, taking cues from the first arch -- an original fixture of the building’s five-foot way. Designed to make you feel at home, we also stayed true to familiar brand elements like warm terracotta tiles, natural reclaimed wood, an open-concept kitchen and a lush outdoor patio with wooden communal benches.

In the heart of the CBD, a calming, pastel-toned palette with unexpected tiling draws your mind away from work. Our Telok Ayer store was our first foray into offering a deli-style menu and includes an on-site kitchen, as well as an outdoor space for alfresco dining.
